Collective Worship
Collective worship in a Catholic school names and celebrates God’s presence in our lives. It is concerned with giving glory, honour, praise and thanks to God. It is our loving response, in word and action, to God’s invitation to enter into a relationship, made possible through the work of Jesus Christ and the witness of the Holy Spirit.
‘The celebration of Catholic liturgies and prayers as an integral part of the learning and teaching should enable our school community to become reflective, experience the presence of God and should develop a mature spiritual life.’
Christ at the Centre Rev Marcus Stock, 2005
Mass
We celebrate Mass as a whole school at the start and end of term. We also celebrate class mass with our Parish each week.
Assembly
We meet together every Monday to celebrate the Gospel. Each term each class has the opportunity to lead us in assembly. We also come together each week to celebrate our achievements and thank God.
Prayer Focus Areas
Each classroom has a prayer focus area and there are also displays and areas throughout school which can be used when praying.
Adoration
During Autumn term we celebrated Adoration with our Parish community.
Class retreat days
We love when Mrs Farmer visits us in school she helps us to deepen our relationship with God.
Class Liturgy
Year 5 were lucky to work with Maria Hall to develop their planning for Celebration of the Word.
We love organising and taking part in our class worship.
Rosary
Our KS2 children lead us in the Rosary each week.
